Meet Brownie

My name is Brownie because I’m a sweet little guy who loves to be loved. Every morning I greet my foster mom by weaving around her legs and asking for pets. All I need are some cheek scritches to roll over and show you my soft and dangerous underbelly. I’m a little wary around new people, but when you get to know me I will always want to be around you and will often ask for pets. When I start purring you’ll hear it across the room! I have the heart of a hunter, so I LOVE to play. When I’m bored of hunting for toy mice and showing them off, I’ll start calling for a friend to come play with me. My ideal owner is a knowledgeable cat parent who will reinforce good habits and patiently acclimate me to house kitty life. I’m a boy who needs another feline friend, but I sometimes feel threatened by bigger and/or male cats. I would do best in a home with another young and energetic cat who likes to wrestle, like my sister Grendel. I’m not sure how I feel about dogs. I haven’t mastered the difference between human and kitty playmates yet, so I’m not ready to live in a house with young kids. A respectful teenaged human sibling would be okay. While I would prefer that petting and playing with me be your full-time job, I’m purr-fectly content to play and snuggle with my kitty siblings until you get home. I can’t wait to show you how sweet I am, so submit an application today!

  • Microchip and registration, a permanent identification to reunite lost pets with their owners
  • Initial de-worming and flea and tick treatment

  • Age-appropriate vaccines
  • Pre-adoption medical exam
  • A certificate for a free healthy pet exam at one of A.R.F.’s participating veterinarians within 7 days of adoption

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit all of our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive early, as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
