Meet Bek
Meet BEK! BEK (broken eye kitty) was brought to ARF as a special request to help this sweet senior. He has not had an easy journey but is still somehow so incredibly loving. He was originally surrendered to a shelter in southern Illinois after his owner passed away. Since then he has had a dental cleaning and surgery to help restore him to health. This handsome man, who we lovingly call "MR B", may only have 6 teeth and one eye left, but he has the biggest heart to share. He loves to sleep with his fosters at night and is always up for a good cuddle session. He is rather easy going and not much seems to phase him. He is a little nervous around quick moving feet but is quick to recover and return. He adores treats and is a big fan of Temptations crunchy treats. There will be no trouble with this boy eating a full meal! He prefers smaller kibble or wet food when possible though, due to his missing teeth. Mr B still has his playful moments and enjoys both wand toys and catnip toys. However, his favorite thing is a warm comfy lap to lay on and watch the world go by. Mr B is okay with other gentle cats and ignores calm dogs. He would prefer no young children in his home but older considerate ones should be fine. Mr B deserves the best home filled with love to enjoy his golden years. Could you be that home?!
BEK is located at the Oswego Petsmart at

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.
We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.
A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit all of our animals. The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.
If you’re invited to meet an animal:
- Plan to arrive early, as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
- All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.
Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
