Meet Calypso

Meet Calypso! He’s a 7 yr old orange tabby cat that loves nothing more than food and a good place to nap. He’s an independent spirit that prefers to approach others first, but once he gets comfortable, personal space is not in his cat vocabulary. He loves to cuddle head to head with his owner and bathe in whatever sunlight he can find. He’s experienced a bit of food insecurity as a former stray, so he would do best in a patient and loving household. It’s recommended that you don’t leave any food out or he will find a way to get extra helpings. While he can warm up to other cats, he would do best in a home where he can be the center of attention. This would also be beneficial because he may try to take food from your other cats if not separated. On the bright side, he is food motivated, so you can get him to do just about anything with an edible offering. One adorable trait of Calypso is that he’s more of a howler than a meower. He is an orange cat through and through. He isn’t combative and will give you indicators that he is uncomfortable.  If you’re interested in Calypso, please reach out!

Calypso is microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccinations, neutered, and litter box trained.

Calypso's adoption fee is $135. If you are interested in meeting Calypso, please fill out our Online Application today!

Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will be able to contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit all of our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive early, as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
