Meet Gizmo

Gizmo is a hoot.  If you are looking for a kitten with boundless energy... Gizmo is your gal.  She brings her toy and has trained us to play fetch with her.  She loves to fetch the fuzzy ball and will give anyone in the room a chance to toss the ball for her.  She is a small, hungry wench: she was found as a stray so some patience may be needed if she is to share canned food with another cat. She is eating both dry and canned food currently.

Gizmo is a short haired tortoiseshell doll; her coloring is an interesting blend of light and dark.  She will curl up on your pillow if you allow it.  She plays hard and so she sleeps hard, has a loud purr and is friendly with other cars/kittens and toddlers.  She is still young & would benefit from being in a home with another cat or kitten.  Please consider adopting two kittens if your home is currently cat-less...or look to adopt an older cat.

We encourage you to consider adopting kittens in pairs!  There are several reasons why Gizmowould do well with a friend, including:

-Two kittens keep each other entertained - they will play and get all their energy out on each other in time for snuggles with you!

-Having two kittens to play with each other prevents "I'm lonely and bored" behavioral issues.

-Watching two kittens wrestle is quite possibly the cutest thing you will ever see.

-The kittens will teach each other "how to cat" and learn to be more social with humans and people.

-You'll save two lives instead of one!

Gizmo has been microchipped, vaccinated, and spayed.  Gizmo’s adoption fee is $165. Please note A.R.F. does not approve applications for any kitten under 6 months of age to families that live outside of Illinois and/or beyond 100 miles of Wheaton or Glen Ellyn, IL. If you are interested in meeting Gizmo, please fill out our Online Application today!  Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will be able to contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit all of our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive early, as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
