Meet Stanley

Stanley is a 4 year old male Rat Terrier mix who weighs in at 17 pounds.  This dog's adoption fee is $250.  If you are still interested, please read more below.

Stanley has a face that will make your heart break. When he looks up at you, you just want to hold him and squeeze him. We do not know a lot about Stanley's past. He was brought into an ER facility by the police department as a hit-by-car. He had several fractures to his pelvis and was unable to walk. Since his initial injury Stanley has full feeling in his backend, is able to wag his tail, and is trying to stand on his own. Stanley will need rehab to help improve his rear end function. Do not let this fact fool you. He gets around on his two legs with no problem. He can be fast when he wants to. He does have a cart, but he is still learning to use it. Stanley has been living with three other dogs and has interacted with multiple other dogs. He is good with other dogs, but he does want to be the center of attention. He would be better in a single dog home, but not completely necessary. He seems to do better with women than men. He would be better off with a woman owner. He can be nervous with people, but he warms up quickly when treats are brought into the mix. He will bond with whoever decides to rescue him and will require lots of love and attention. He is not high energy. He loves to sit next to his person and watch tv or read a book. He wants to be wherever you are. He is not food aggressive or toy aggressive.

Stanley is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations and neutered.  This dog's family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you are interested in adopting this dog, fill out an Online Application today!  Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit all of our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive early, as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
