Meet Princess

Princess is a 1.5 year old female Terrier/Pit mix who weighs in at 42 pounds.  This dog's adoption fee is $450.  If you are still interested, please read more below.

Looking for a playful young friend for your dog, this is your girl. Looking for a master cuddler for yourself, this is your girl. Princess will be two years old in November and comes to us from Texas where her family could no longer provide for her. Weighing in at 42 pounds, she’s a perfect size and breed for someone wanting a big dog in a slightly smaller version. She is house and crate trained. Rides well in a car. She pulls on a leash and is pretty strong, but we have not tried her on a harness yet, which may be a solution. She knows sit but would benefit from obedience training. (It’s a requirement of adoption anyway.) She’s a little timid at first but loves affection. She gives a warning bark when she hears things outside.

UPDATE: We have introduced Princess to one of the neighborhood kids and after a couple of minutes of timidly watching, she came to the girl happily. She also did well meeting people at last week’s PetSmart adoption event. We think her initial timidity is more from her last couple of months change than her personality. Princess is sweet and easy and perfectly at ease with her foster's family and dog! She does pull on a leash, but the harness helps a bit. Come meet her; you won’t be sorry!

Princess is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housebroken, and spayed.  This dog's family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you are interested in adopting this dog, fill out an Online Application today!  Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive on time (or early), as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
