Meet Edgar
Edgar is a 1.5 year old male Shepherd/Black Mouth Cur mix who weighs in at 55 pounds. This dog's adoption fee is $450. If you are still interested, please read more below.
Edgar (Eddie) is a big, friendly, goofball of a dog who has never met a stranger. Hailing from Texas, this handsome and healthy boy has a puppy-like energy but without the "accidents" or destruction of personal property. He can be a bit of a jumper on people, so smaller humans may not be a fan. He is eager to learn and as sweet as they come; there is not a mean bone in this boy's body. He has befriended the resident dog and cats and multiple neighbors. While he doesn't look much like a lab, Eddie is a first-class retriever, running for a ball or Frisbee and dropping it right at your feet -- no wrestling this guy to get the ball back, and it's a great way for him to get his exercise! Eddie might do best in a house with a fenced yard and perhaps another dog, but as long as he gets a couple good walks, some time to run/play, and some snuggle time each day, he's a happy camper. He gets up early, but passes out around 8:30 and sleeps through the night with no issues.
If you are interested in getting to know this friendly boy, fill out an application today!
Edgar is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housebroken, and neutered. This dog's family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing. A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you are interested in adopting this dog, fill out an Online Application today! Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.
We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.
A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit all of our animals. The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.
If you’re invited to meet an animal:
- Plan to arrive early, as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
- All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.
Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
