Meet Whiskers

My name is Whiskers and I’m a big roly-poly who loves to lounge in your lap and soak up your love.

I may be a big kitty, but I’m a baby at heart. I love to snuggle into a warm lap and put my paws in the air to make air biscuits. I’m a little shy around new people, but if you let me approach you first I’ll crawl into your lap for love when I’m ready. Neck scritches are the fastest way to my heart, and when I’m happy I’ll show my love by standing on your lap and nuzzling your face. My foster mom says I’m a little on the chonky side, so I’ll love you forever if you brush me and scratch me in places I have a hard time reaching myself. I love to chase toys with feather and things that wiggle, so I’m starting to get in shape. I sometimes like to play with my foster siblings, but I can be overwhelming for them because I’m bigger.

I’m looking for a home where I can settle in and be your big baby. I would like an owner who will keep up with my exercise and diet. I don’t need my people to be around all the time, but when my humans are home I want to be close to them. I’m a little socially awkward around other cats so I’ll need help learning to be a good kitty sibling if you have or want another feline friend. I would be okay with a dog that mostly ignores me with a gradual introduction. I love to be loved, so I can live with kids too as long as they can give me space while I settle in.

If you’re ready to let the biggest, sweetest baby into your heart and home, submit an application today!

  • Microchip and registration, a permanent identification to reunite lost pets with their owners

  • Age-appropriate vaccines
  • Pre-adoption medical exam
  • A certificate for a free healthy pet exam at one of A.R.F.’s participating veterinarians within 7 days of adoption

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit all of our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive early, as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
