Meet Larry
LARRY WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AFTER HIS NEUTER ON MAY 29th.
Larry is a 1.5 year old male Bernese Mountain Dog/Golden Doodle mix who weighs in at 78 pounds. This dog's adoption fee is $550. If you are still interested, please read more below.
Larry is a total love bug once he gets to know you. He will bark like crazy upon first meeting someone but will settle down once that person offers treats and constant pets. There is no such thing as too much attention in his world. Larry follows his foster mom around everywhere and leans into her for petting and brushing thus earning the nickname Velcro Dog.
Larry is learning how to walk on a leash and does best with an easy -walk harness. He is such a smart boy, he has already learned where his leash is and will go to it often - he is always up for going for a walk!
Larry will also need some training to not jump up on people.
Due to his size, he may be a bit much for younger children. For the most part Larry is a pretty chill dog although he has his stubborn moments when he doesn't want to come inside after playing in the yard. He plays well with his foster brother and he seems anxious to meet other dogs and people on walks. He watches out the front window and reminds passers-by that he is always protecting the house. He shows no food aggression during mealtime.
Larry is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housebroken, and neutered as of May 29th. This dog's family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing. A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you are interested in adopting this dog, fill out an Online Application today! Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.
We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.
A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit all of our animals. The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.
If you’re invited to meet an animal:
- Plan to arrive early, as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
- All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.
Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
