Meet Winston

This pup was originally adopted from ARF at the end of January to a very loving mom. Unfortunately, her senior dog is not a fan of his young dog behavior, so he finds himself looking for a new home.  He is a 10 month old male Cockalier who weighs in at 18 pounds. His birthday is 7/13/24. This dog's adoption fee is $850.  If you are still interested, please read more below.

Winston “Wigglebutt” Churchill is 18 pounds of charm. He’s the class clown, a wonderful combination of loving lap dog and spunky adventurer. Having spent too much of his early life in a crate, he still has the occasional accident, so the right home will need to have some patience. He loves to play fetch with balls and squeaky toys, and to gnaw on bully sticks. He has a voice, but he doesn’t bark excessively. He is curious and interested in other dogs, but in his prior home he was too playful for an older dog, so proper fit in his next home is important. He sleeps in a crate, but doesn’t like to be left alone in one. He had a small room in which he was gated at his prior home, and he tolerated that much better. He hasn’t spent much time with small children, but he’s never shown any signs of aggression with humans. His energy level is probably a medium. As long as he gets some exercise, he’s happy to hang out on the couch with his humans. He’s a great cuddler. A fenced yard would be best; he’s very curious about the world! He has made great progress with a leash. He is nervous in the car, and prefers to be on someone’s lap. His forever home will be so lucky to have him!

This dog is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations and neutered.  This dog's family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you are interested in adopting this dog, fill out an Online Application today!  Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit all of our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive early, as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
