Meet Indiana

Hi! My name is Indiana.  While I’m a young cat, I have lived through a lot of life to get to where I am now.  You see I lived in a hoarder home with many feline brothers and sisters.  Life in a hoarder home can be difficult.  Even though your person may love you, there isn’t enough time to give each cat the attention and affection they deserve.  I don’t know about you, but that was sort of a scary spot for me to be in. I am learning to appreciate the love my foster family shows me.  I’m still a little bit shy and timid. But, I’m all in once I get to know and trust you.  My foster Mom says I have come a long way.  I’m much more comfortable lying next to my people and letting them scratch and pet me.  I will even let my foster Mom pick me up for short periods of time.  I’ve also found that I love this tall thing called a scratching post. It’s so much fun!  And I can be quite entertained chasing and batting around all sorts of crinkly and soft balls.

The vet says I’m approximately one year old, am healthy, and able to be adopted. He also told me that my kidneys did not fully develop when I was young. You will notice I drink more water than the average cat, and  I will urinate more frequently as well.  I assure you my litter box behavior is impeccable and my foster Mom will tell you I’ve never had an accident.  The vet also recommends I eat a special diet geared towards my kidneys so they continue to function normally.

My first year of life was filled with chaos and overcrowding. My dream home would be a calm and quiet adult home (please no children under 16).  If it sounds like we could be a match, I hope to meet you very soon!

  • Pre-adoption medical exam
  • A certificate for a free healthy pet exam at one of A.R.F.’s participating veterinarians within 7 days of adoption

If a cat or dog is on our website, it is still available for adoption but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, submit a no-commitment application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved in approximately 3-5 business days.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals.  The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we give priority to pre-approved applicants.

If you’re invited to meet an animal:

  • Plan to arrive on time (or early), as we cannot hold animals for any reason.
  • All human household members and dogs (if adopting another dog), must be present in order to be considered as a potential adopter.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation!
